About this tool
Kubernetes Quantity Converter is a free browser-based tool for converting Kubernetes CPU, memory, and storage resource quantities between decimal, binary, and base units. All calculations are performed locally in your browser.
Convert Kubernetes CPU and memory quantities between millicores, cores, bytes, decimal units, and binary units.
Convert Kubernetes CPU and memory quantities.
Examples: 500m, 0.5, 1, 2
Kubernetes uses quantities to represent resource amounts such as CPU and memory. CPU quantities are commonly expressed in CPU cores or milliCPU, while memory quantities represent bytes.
Decimal suffixes include m, k, M, G, T, P, and E. Binary suffixes include Ki, Mi, Gi, Ti, Pi, and Ei.
For CPU, 100m is equivalent to 0.1 CPU. Kubernetes does not allow CPU precision finer than 1m.
Be careful with capitalization. For example, M means mega, while m means milli.
This converter performs calculations locally in your browser. Your quantity is not sent to a backend.
Your support helps us build more tools and improve the ones you already use.

Enter Kubernetes resource quantities such as 250m, 512Mi, 2Gi, or 1G to see their equivalent values in different units.
The converter supports the quantity notation commonly used in Kubernetes resource requests and limits, making it easier to understand CPU, memory, and storage values in YAML manifests.
Kubernetes CPU resources are commonly expressed in cores or millicores. For example, 1000m represents one CPU core, while 250m represents one quarter of a CPU core.
CPU quantities can be used in Kubernetes resource requests and limits to control how much processing capacity a container can request or consume.
Kubernetes supports decimal units such as M, G, and T as well as binary units such as Mi, Gi, and Ti. These units are not interchangeable because decimal and binary prefixes use different base values.
For example, 1G represents 1,000,000,000 bytes while 1Gi represents 1,073,741,824 bytes.
No. Quantity parsing and conversion happen entirely in your browser. The values you enter are not uploaded to ToolTunnel's servers.
This makes the converter useful for quickly checking resource values from Kubernetes manifests and deployment configurations.
A Kubernetes quantity is a standardized way of representing resource amounts such as CPU, memory, and storage in Kubernetes manifests.
For CPU resources, 1000m represents one CPU core. The m suffix represents millicores.
Gi is a binary unit based on 1024, while G is a decimal unit based on 1000. One Gi equals 1,073,741,824 bytes, while one G equals 1,000,000,000 bytes.
500Mi represents 500 mebibytes, where each Mi is 1,048,576 bytes.
Yes. The converter can help interpret CPU quantities such as 100m, 250m, 500m, and 2 when reviewing Kubernetes resource requests and limits.
No. Conversion happens locally in your browser and the entered quantities are not sent to ToolTunnel's servers.
