About this tool
Kubernetes Manifest Analyzer helps inspect Kubernetes YAML manifests before deployment. It identifies resources, summarizes important configuration, and highlights common configuration and operational risks without connecting to a Kubernetes cluster.
What is a Kubernetes Manifest Analyzer?
Kubernetes manifests describe the desired state of resources running in a Kubernetes cluster. They can define workloads, networking resources, configuration, storage, security settings, and other Kubernetes objects.
This analyzer parses Kubernetes YAML documents and extracts useful information such as resource kinds, names, namespaces, API versions, replicas, containers, images, labels, selectors, and ports.
What does this tool check?
The analyzer performs static checks against the YAML provided in the browser. Depending on the resource type, it can identify common configuration concerns involving Deployments, Pods, Services, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, ConfigMaps, Secrets, containers, and related fields.
- Missing or incomplete resource metadata
- Container configuration concerns
- Missing or unusual image configuration
- Deployment and Pod configuration issues
- Service selector and exposure concerns
- Potentially sensitive Secret usage
- Common Kubernetes configuration risks
Common use cases
- Reviewing Kubernetes manifests before deployment
- Inspecting YAML received from another team
- Finding common configuration problems during development
- Understanding unfamiliar Kubernetes resources
- Performing a quick static review before applying kubectl commands
- Checking manifests during CI or infrastructure review workflows
Static analysis limitations
This tool performs static analysis only. It does not connect to your Kubernetes cluster and cannot determine cluster-specific runtime conditions, admission decisions, policies, resource availability, or the actual behavior of a deployed workload.
For production validation, manifests should also be checked with Kubernetes validation, admission policies, security tooling, and your normal deployment pipeline.
Privacy and security
Manifest analysis is performed locally in your browser. The tool does not need access to your Kubernetes cluster and does not require Kubernetes credentials.
Avoid sharing sensitive manifests publicly. Although the analysis itself is performed locally, the YAML you paste may contain credentials, tokens, private configuration, or other sensitive information.
Frequently Asked Questions
▶Does this tool connect to my Kubernetes cluster?
No. Kubernetes Manifest Analyzer performs static analysis of the YAML provided in the browser and does not connect to a Kubernetes cluster.
▶Can it validate every Kubernetes rule?
No. It focuses on useful static checks and common configuration issues. It does not replace Kubernetes API validation, admission controllers, policy engines, or security scanners.
▶Can I analyze multiple YAML documents?
Yes. Kubernetes YAML containing multiple documents separated with YAML document separators can be analyzed.
▶Should I use this before deploying to production?
Yes, it can be useful as an additional static review step, but production deployments should also use your normal Kubernetes validation, policy, security, and CI/CD checks.
